The monumental first edition of Hume and Marshall’s survey of the game birds of India, Burma and Ceylon, celebrated for its field observations and chromolithographic plates.

A foundational work of South Asian ornithology and one of the most ambitious illustrated natural-history books produced in colonial India.

Volumes I and II only of the three-volume work; Volume III absent. The two present volumes are very attractively bound in leather with handsome gilt spines. The complete 3 volumes generally go for USD1500 to 2000. This attractive discount is due to the missing volume 3.
